WHEN SOMEONE HAS WHAT YOU LOVE……..
This is the story of my life. Well, this is the story of a very happy retail owner.
Our store is filled with love. All the lovely things we’ve found during our days of exploration. Brands from all over the world (Italy, New Jersey, Ghana, LES, Egypt, Morocco, the mountains of Pennsylvania). Gems we stumbled over in our travels. Tiny reminders of vivid stories. Each piece is a representation of our beautiful life and they hold a special place in our hearts. In fact, I can tell you great personal stories that are wrapped around many of the things that are offered for sale at Georgia. If only these little gems could talk…you’d know our lives inside and out.
If I could, I might keep every single item we sell – for myself. I might take them home and adorn my bedroom and bathroom…and all the places I love to be. If I could I might just be that selfish. But that wouldn’t make for ANY business at all. In fact, that wouldn’t make for the happy life of a retail owner.
We love when people walk away with the very things we want. It means we’ve hit the nail on the head. It’s our biggest score when someone with a strong opinion and voice and sense of style finds us on the Bowery in NYC and finds something that speaks to them. And then carries that very thing home with them. It means our lives have overlapped in some very special way.
Just the other day Tracee Ellis Ross rolled up in a big black truck and ever so chicly strolled into our boutique. And everything she bought- the Italian hair oil, the vintage Kimono, the Lopeti Headband – literally everything, was something I want. And this is the goal. So, I shed a little tear for my personal loss and then danced a little dance for our personal gain.
This is the story of a very happy retail owner.
Thank you Tracee for overlapping our lives and holding tight to the things we love.
