Here are three of my children. The three youngest of the brood. They are, as I assume for all kids, forces to be reckoned with.
One, wants nothing to do with anything ‘girly’, ‘slow’ or ‘pink’ – she has a fierce determination. Another, prefers to be ‘stylin’ at all times, and pretty much manages just that. And yet another, is a rascal in search of Mr. Trouble.
Can you guess who is who?
My job is to plant an idea within each, that idea being that they are magnificent, special and full of drive. Then I help them to actualize (simultaneously knocking down anyone trying to oppose). Eventually, I’ll be able to sit back and observe – but for now, we’re all in constant motion.
This is the beauty of family and team work. Both of which I’ve seen formed in many different ways.
Here’s a note I wrote to them years back…
I believe in you. I know you. I see you. Try your best each day to find joy in the little things…those little happinesses will sustain you through life. There is no need to know everything, but you must find the few things that you care to know a little something about. Listen. Speak. Do. Love.
