In That Moment

Aron Ranen made a documentary on the business of Black hair care.  It changed my life. Literally.  I was working in fashion, as Director of PR for Zac Posen.  I had been in that world for years…over ten long ones – to tell the truth. After watching Aron’s film, I decided not to go back.  In fact, I decided never to go back to fashion.  I made a major life move.  From that very moment, I chose to embrace beauty – to bring intimacy and passion to an industry that began with the most passionate and revolutionary woman, Madam C. J. Walker.

Watching that documentary was one of those moments that we all should have.  A moment where “it” is so clear…where the next step is so clear.  One would be a fool not to respond. In fact, all one has to do is respond and something major happens.

And it did.  I love our company.  I love what we do.  I love who we do it with.  Our small team at Georgia is such a perfect mash-up of creative, smart and funny women. The larger “team”, of blogers, product junkies, and international beauties is the perfect crowd to be down with.

I’ve crossed over.  From here on out, I’m Team Beauty.
