This was a day to remember! She’s such a gem. Listen to Miss Georgia.
Last week, my mom and I went to see the magnificent butterflies that were living in The Museum of Natural History in New York City.
I’ve been there twice before, and both times I remember them as beautiful and graceful. Without imperfections. But this time was different and they were not perfect.
The butterflies were still beautiful, don’t get me wrong. They were stunning. But this time, I would have rather looked at them from behind glass. To tell you the truth, I was terrified! I would watch in awe as they flew around, but the second one came near me, I would scream and jerk away. All of the people in the room must have thought I was crazy and having a seizure. Mama on the other hand was really brave and let three land on her! She really wanted them to land on her. She even put orange juice on her wrist and kept adding more. She basically stalked the butterflies!
When I was younger the butterflies were magical. They literally reminded me of fairies – flying, colorful and special. Now, each butterfly didn’t seem as enchanted. Actually, they just seemed like big bugs to me.
